Kevin Trudeau is Sent To Prison for Publishing Books. Is that Justice? | ||
I wanted to discuss some things that has been on my mind in regards to the Kevin Trudeau case. I have read blogs and I have seen what the media is reporting about Kevin Trudeau and I have also read posts made on his Facebook page.
This is my opinion, I am in no way involved with the case or know all the reasons for the Judge to give Trudeau a 10 year sentence, but I do know that this event is a turning point in the United States of America.
It shows that our rights as FREE thinking and FREE speaking individuals has been challenged. Well if you are wondering what does this case have to do with America?
I think it has alot to do with it. People risk their lives everyday to come to America, It is supposed to be the land of the free, a place where anyone can become an entrepreneur and follow their dreams.
FREEDOM is the reason people want to come here. People from around the world feel that they have an opportunity to be apart of a society that encourages capitalism and individuals to become business owners.
Kevin Trudeau was put in jail and later sentenced because he exercised his "freedom of speech", he spoke out against the government.
In his books he talked about the health care system, he talked about a better way of life through meditation and apparently it was the weight loss book that got him in trouble with the FTC. They told Mr. Trudeau that they did not want him telling consumers that his weightloss methods were "easy" and by saying that he was misleading the public.
Now I understand that when it comes to selling products that the person who sells stuff using infomercials are required to disclose and let the consumer know that (results may vary), that any claims made must not be taken as saying that the person buying the book will lose weight or even see the same results that the author has.
And maybe that was where Kevin Trudeau messed up and why the Feds decided he needed to be fined $37 Million dollars to pay back the money he made off selling the "Weightloss Cure" book.
But for some reason I feel this is a bigger issue, it is more than just defrauding people out of their money because of false advertising.
What was Kevin actually saying to consumers? and what was Trudeau actually doing for the public?

How Do We Proceed in a Society Where Our Individual Rights of Free Speech is Taken Away ? | |
I just can't help to think this is a step into a direction of more criminal charges being placed on anyone who tries to make money selling information that is against what big corporations want us to know about.
Is it a crime to tell the truth? Is it a criminal act to sell products that will actually help people help themselves? I guess it is.
Kevin Trudeau is just an example of how the justice system is going to put fear into anyone thinking of starting a free enterprise, or anyone who wants to make money in America.
I am confused at how this can even happen, how is it after almost 20 years of pitching various products that Mr. Trudeau is now considered a con man and liar.
The FTC has been investigating Mr. Trudeau for two decades, they have seen all his informercials, they have seen all his New York Bestseller books on Amazon. The Feds even interviewed and followed the establishment and inner workings of the GIN Global Information Network, so why now?
What is such the urgent need to put Kevin Trudeau behind bars? They say it is because he was in contempt of court and that by refusing to pay the fine of $37 Million dollars while continuing to spend $20 Million on travel and personal purchases.
It just seems like there is more to the story.
Well on the Kevin Trudeau Show channel on Youtube one particular video seems to answer those questions and it is something to think about.
In the video Mr. Trudeau talks about him being part of the brotherhood and that he decided to leave the exclusive secret club to start is own which turned out to be GIN.
Could this be the reason that the Feds have come after the informercial pitchman? Is it because he tried to leave a secret society and tell the world what the government doesn't want us to know about?
Well I am not exactly sure and I don't think anyone is. All I do know is that this is a turning point in our justice system and Kevin Trudeau is the martyr.

What is Inside the Book that put Kevin Trudeau Behind Bars ? | |
Here is the information that is supposedly in the book "weightloss cures" book that put KT in jail. (*this is my opinion and is not to be taken as fact).
The FTC had already fined Kevin Trudeau for falsely leading the public in the past in which Trudeau paid a $2 million dollar fine promising not to do it again.
Then when Trudeau published the weight-loss book recommending colon cleansing enemas, HCG injections and daily 500 calorie intake the bestselling author made over 39 Million dollars in sales which the FTC wanted the infomercial salesman to pay back to the people who had bought the book.

Everyone knows that the food industry is set-up to make us fat, and to keep us ill and dependent on doctors for treatments and pharmaceutical prescriptions. This is common knowledge so how is it suddenly a crime to tell people what they already know?
* I do not know all the details of this case and what caused Kevin Trudeau to be convicted, the media says it was due to false representation of products as well as contempt of court rulings by judge Ronald Guzman.

Is Kevin Trudeau a Scam Artist? and if so does a 10 Year Sentence seem fair? | |
Lets just talk about the justice system for a moment.
Does it seem fair that a guy who profits off selling products and services to the public and talks against the government in the process should get 10 years because a judge is tired of the guys misleading and misrepresentation of the things being sold via infomercials?
Okay so Kevin Trudeau made a living selling people products and services that they wanted to buy, he made millions of dollars pitching various types of products but since when has that become a crime.
Hmmm
Well the judge says that Kevin is a con man, who is taking advantage of people with misleading advertising and that the public need to be protected.
So you are telling me that putting Kevin Trudeau behind bars and that is how the public is being protected from scam artists??? I think not, there are hundreds of more where he came from.
What about all the other con artist in the world? What is going to happen to them?
The jails are already over crowded and murders, thieves and worse criminals are being let out of jail and are put back on the streets everyday.
Is that how justice sees that they are protecting civilians? One must wonder about this.

What Happened to Kevin Trudeau's Wife, His GIN Company and the Money in Offshore Accounts? | |
In the case of money, love and secret societies one must have to wonder what happened to Nataliya Babenko the young bride that Trudeau married in 2008.
Apparently Trudeau's wife graduated film school in 2013 and has since moved back to Ukraine to be close to her mother.
Interestingly Natalie is the one who runs Trudeau's multi-million dollar companies because the Feds will seize anything that Kevin has so he can not own any assets.
The private club by the name of GIN is up for sale, it is believed that former members of the MLM organization A.K.A. Global Information Network that Kevin Trudeau founded will try to purchase it to continue on with its mission. (I am not a member of this organization so I am not aware of how the society works)
As far as Kevin Trudeau having hidden money offshore in Island in Saint Kitts and Nevis if there is any such accounts the former infomercial salesman will be locked up until he turns 60 years old and even then the court will put him under a 5 year supervision, if and when he is released from prison. So it doesn't look like Trudeau will have anytime to spend any of it anyway.

What About The People Who Said They Were Scammed By Kevin Trudeau? | |
In all of this there are people who have said that they were "scammed" by Kevin Trudeau. So lets look at how this could have been possible.
Mr. Trudeau goes on television to promote books and the consumer who buy the book go through a sales process. I found information in regards to Mr. Trudeau's business model and it is pretty interesting as explained by Ryan Lee.
How it works is that the customer will buy the book at a certain price point and then pay for shipping and handling to have the book shipped to them. Later the customer will be given the option to have a free book with an additional shipping and handling charge.
As you can see Trudeau did not make his millions of dollars off of the books he sold on television. It was from the continuity sales model that actually made Kevin Trudeau his most money.
How Does a Continuity Program work?
Basically you agree to receive an offer which can often times be free for a trial period, after that you become a paid member of that product or service automatically on a monthly basis until the consumer cancels.
Kevin Trudeau was getting customers to accept a monthly agreement to be a member of a newsletter, so just as with anything if the consumer did not cancel the membership then they were going to incur a monthly charge or fee. Then if they wanted a refund it would require they follow the terms and conditions of the offer.
In my opinion I don't see how this is a Scam but people will often have complaints when it comes to consumer goods and services.

Followers and Supporters of Kevin Trudeau Speak Out on Facebook | |
Even with all the press and news media claiming that Kevin Trudeau is a scam artist and defrauded people the book author has a loyal following of supporters.
All you have to do is go to Kevin Trudeau's Facebook Page which is being updated from his ex-girlfriend and business associate Janine Nubani Contursi because Trudeau can only send emails from jail. Go to the page and you will see all the thousands of comments being left from people showing support and sharing how KT has helped them.
Many people have been able to turn their life around and become better persons through the lessons Kevin Trudeau teaches in his Mega Memory and Your Wish is Your Command Programs.
So what is it that makes people support a man who has been called a criminal? I think it is because people are tired of being lead and told what to do by the government, they want to have the choice to live their life they way they want to.
It could be because of advocacy and the information that is readily available online for anyone to learn and read. It does not have to be Kevin Trudeau's books or his message at seminars that make people follow him, it could just be that in their hearts they know that someone has to speak up and speak out and fight for freedom.
Kevin Trudeau's Legal Team is Seeking an Appeal
Although the judge in the case has sentenced Mr. Trudeau to 10 years in prison, it will be appealed by the KT Legal Defense team and this could reduce the sentencing to 8 years. I am sure there will be more about this case in the future as more details are revealed.

Apparently Following Court Orders and Telling People the Truth Would Have Kept Trudeau Out of Jail | |
In the latest news update the reporter stated that U.S. District Judge Guzman was upset at Kevin Trudeau because of the way the infomercial salesman ignored court orders and continued to use false advertising on television and in his books.
So basically if Kevin Trudeau had of just told consumers the truth (which is what I thought his books were doing in the first place) and followed the court orders to stop writing books, making commercials or pay a fine, Mr. Trudeau could have avoided going to jail.
(Just as a side note the Feds had been investigating Mr. Trudeau for 20 years and after all of that time all they could come up with is that he was a "deceitful" person.) Really??
My question is will all the other people who use false advertising on television and in print also be sentenced to do prison time?
If so then that would include more than 80 percent of all advertising out there, which would put probably thousands of people behind bars if that is how the justice system is going to start deciding that "false advertising" is a crime.

The Informercial Salesman said that although his book Weightloss Cures made over 30 million dollars in sales the author told a reporter on the ABC News who found the pitchman in Zurich that he was broke that he gave all his money away and that there were no hidden bank accounts or money anywhere to be found.
But recent emails that Mr. Trudeau sent to his wife Nataliya Babenko revealed that he had given her and her mother money in the sum of $300,000 dollars along with some gold bars. (could there be more money still around?)
This makes me think that after Kevin Trudeau finishes his sentencing for contempt he will then go to trial for the civil case in which his wife may end up being a witness to what happened to all the money that was generated in Kevin's multi-million dollar businesses over the last two decades.

Although Kevin Trudeau has many supporters and people who stand behind the mission of freedom of speech and free enterprise there are those who have spent the last 7 years documenting what they believe to be the wrongs and ill's of the infomercial salesman.
All you have to do is put in Kevin Trudeau Scam and you will find some pretty authoritative blogs discussing the inner workings of the organization and the people running it, along with what some seem to believe an evil plan to defraud innocent people.
You will find it interesting reading: one of the persons being Abe Husein along with Leonard Coldwell who were former GIN members and now they have turned away from the group.
Then there is dedicated blogs that talk about Kevin Trudeau and his partners along with other Global Information Network members.

As you know I have been reading information in relation to Kevin Trudeau and his run in with the law. The outspoken salesman and author had mentioned several times on his Youtube channel that he was not going to be bullied by the government that he was going to speak out against those he felt were the "Real" scammers against society.
Well I saw another video about a citizen who was put into jail and the judge told them you must obey and work within the political system. It got me thinking that maybe this is what this is all about, those who disobey will be punished.
Although this is not a cut and dry scenario it does bring home the point that people who try to stand up or against the law makers will be silenced. By putting Kevin Trudeau in jail the court judge was able to try and make Mr. Trudeau be quite.
Do You Think Putting Kevin Trudeau in Jail will Stop His Mission?
I don't think so. The movement is bigger than Trudeau himself, it consists of an organization of like minds and hearts that will keep carrying the torch for a free society.
I think that if anything by Mr. Trudeau being put into prison it will make his message stand out bigger and brighter. Just think of the people from all over the world who will now take notice of what Kevin has been trying to say for all these years.
All you have to do is listen to any one of his youtube radio broadcasts and you will get a sense of who the real Kevin trudeau is all about.
One thing that stood out to me was that Mr. Trudeau understood his rights, he also understood the law and I think it is because of him being intelligent of the governments dealings that he was able to make the decision to let the judge put him in jail.
Kevin just may have been expecting it to happen, and he was just waiting for the full manifestation of the act towards him. It could not have been a surprise especially because of the constant monitoring and hassle he faced anytime he tried to do anything related to his businesses.
I do think Mr. Trudeau exercised his rights and he tried to protect his assets but it was to no avail, he even gave money away and decided not to start any new business ventures.
I don't know what else the book salesman could have done other than just become a monk quietly living his life on the road away from all technology. Maybe that is what Kevin Trudeau should have done, walked away from the cameras and lived a life of solitude.
But I can see that this has to be his fate or maybe even his destiny, because now he can touch the lives of those who did not know anything about him. Imagine all the lives he can inspire and help in jail.
Every situation we find ourselves in can be turned into a positive even if it seems very dismal and for that I am grateful and I wish Mr. Trudeau the best and I know his future will be bright.
......Even if this means that someone else is left to carry on his mission.

Lessons Learned From Kevin Trudeau and His Time Spent in Jail | |
Kevin could take his current situation and be upset about it or even depressed but he chooses to be happy, to see the brighter side of things and to constantly inspire his readers on his facebook page. At any given moment you can go to his page and read all the comments left by those whose life has been improved just from the quotes written by Trudeau. I think everyone whether they like Kevin Trudeau or not will have to agree he has made a impact on the world, by sticking to his beliefs. Kevin Trudeau has been transferred to a new facility, one that is known for its minimum security and campus style dorm environment, where prisoners work on the air force base along with the ability to play tennis. The current prison arrangements for Mr. Trudeau is pretty comfortable and will give him time to write his "tell-all book.
